The Scout Oath and Law oleh Baden Powell

Berikut ini adalah Janji/ Kode Kehormatan ( The Scout Oath and Law), yang ditulis oleh Baden Powell dalam buku beliau : THE SCOUT’S OATH IN BADEN-POWELL’S SCOUTING FOR BOYS, 1908 “On my honour I promise that— 1. I will do my duty to God and the King. 2.. I will do my best to help others, whatever it costs me. 3.. I know the Scout Law, and will obey it.” THE SCOUT LAW IN BADEN-POWELL’S SCOUTING FOR BOYS, 1908 1. A Scout’s honour is to be trusted. 2. A Scout is loyal to the King, and to his officers, and to his country, and to his employers. 3. A Scout’s duty is to be useful and to help others. 4. A Scout is a friend to all, and a brother to every other Scout, no matter to what social class the other belongs. 5. A Scout is courteous. 6. A Scout is a friend to animals. 7. A Scout obeys orders of his patrol leader or Scoutmaster without question. 8. A Scout smiles and whistles under all circumstances. 9. A Scout is thrifty. In describing the process of formulating these guidelines, Baden-Powell explained: “Now I know that a real red-blooded boy is all for action, ready for adventure. He just hates to be nagged and told ‘You must not do this—you must not do that.’ He wants to know what he can do. So I thought why should we not have our own Law for Scouts, and I jotted down ten things that a fellows needs to do as his regular habit if he is going to be a real man.”
